KMG PetroChem LLP (hereinafter – KMG PetroChem) initiated the signing of a bilateral Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of personnel training for the integrated gas chemical complex under construction in Atyrau region. The partners were the Atyrau University of Oil and Gas named after Safi Utebayev, APEC PetroTechnic Higher College and a branch of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas in Atyrau.
The conclusion of the Memorandum is in line with the strategic goals of KMG PetroChem aimed at the active development of the domestic petrochemical industry, which is an important factor in the growth of the national economy due to its multiplier effect.
As the director of the Department for Business Support Abdinadir Aitmatov noted: "The petrochemical industry in Kazakhstan is at the stage of formation, and therefore large-scale projects will need highly qualified engineers such as mechanics, technologists and chemical engineers. Qualified technical specialists of the profession in various fields of activity, including technicians, operators, etc., will also be needed. with knowledge of modern production and practical work skills."
The main areas of cooperation cover a range of measures aimed at strengthening professional potential in the petrochemical industry: This includes the joint development and adjustment of educational programs, conducting research and subsequent implementation of the results in the production process, and is also aimed at improving the skills of both KMG PetroChem employees and the academic staff of educational institutions.
As part of the initiatives, KMG PetroChem undertakes to provide students with access to industrial and postgraduate practice, as well as internships at its facilities, supporting them in further employment.
In turn, educational institutions will provide students with comprehensive support, including assistance in adapting curricula, as well as provide a platform for joint educational and scientific events, thus guaranteeing fruitful cooperation at all levels.
