Magzum Mirzagaliyev, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC KazMunayGas, held a meeting with an Eni delegation headed by Director of Exploration and Production Luka Vinyati on March 26, the press service of the national oil and gas company reports.
The parties discussed the progress of the project for the construction of a hybrid power plant in the city of Zhanaozen (wind 77 MW, sun 50 MW and gas 120 MW). At the moment, KMG and Eni are completing all the necessary work to start the project.
"Let me thank Eni for the joint work and exchange of experience within the framework of this strategic project in the field of energy transfer. We look forward to further fruitful cooperation in this field of activity," said the head of KMG.
Recall that on January 18, 2024, in Rome, the parties signed a joint decision on the implementation of a project for the construction of a hybrid power plant in the city of Zhanaozen, Mangystau region.
Additionally, the heads of KMG and Eni focused on the issues of preparation for drilling the first exploratory well at the Abai site in the Caspian Sea, as well as the implementation of further stages of development of the Kashagan and Karachaganak fields, taking into account the priority to increase production of commercial gas.
In addition, the meeting participants highlighted the successful experience of exporting Karachaganak oil through the Transneft system to German refineries. It is expected that the transportation of oil from the Karachaganak field along this route will continue in 2024.
