The largest plastic recycling plant in Russia has been opened in the Moscow region.

The largest polymer processing plant in the Russian Federation, Ecoline — Vtorplast, and a high-tech enterprise for the production of finished products from recycled granules, Ecoplast, have been launched in Yegoryevsk near Moscow. The recycling capacity is more than 60 thousand tons of plastic waste per year, followed by the creation of finished products.

The total investment in the project amounted to 11.7 billion rubles. Of these, 2.9 billion rubles are federal funding funds within the framework of support measures that go through the PPK "REO", Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko told reporters. It is planned to recoup them by 2030, the company said.

The new complex will receive 21 types of plastic. The enterprise is equipped with a unique water circulation and water treatment system for the world experience. The entire volume of contaminated water after washing the polymers is cleaned to a condition suitable for reuse. The applied solution, due to the fineness of water filtration, guarantees the absence of microplastic emissions.

Evgeny Mikhailov, CEO of Ecoline Capital, said that the new enterprise will be able to produce up to 120 thousand containers for waste, pallets and other household and industrial goods from recyclables per year. Earlier it was reported that in addition to finished products, the company will produce recyclables such as PET flex (39%), HDPE/PP granules (14%) and LDPE granules (27%).
